Quotes from Parents

Quotes from a few of our parents/guardians:

"My Grandson, Taylor is 10 years old and is autistic.  It is very hard for him to participate in group activities.  The noise and all the activity are too much for him.  About a year and a half ago, we were introduced to Hannah's.  Taylor has learned to ride and he loves the animals.  He is so proud of himself with what he has accomplished and so am I.  Hannah's is a much needed activity for many special children in our community."  Taylor's Gramma.

"My 16 year old daughter, Mary, is disabled and in a wheel chair.  We are limited in this area with activities that Mary can be included in.  A group of very good-hearted people have made available to handicapped children, the opportunity to ride horses.  They are wonderful with the children.  Mary loves animals and riding the horses.  We are grateful for these people and this outreach program for our daughter and other children to benefit from learning to ride, groom and manage horses."  Mary's Mom.

"My son, Josiah, is autistic and will face many challenges in his life.  He doesn't always understand what is going on around him and finds verbal language difficult to process.  During his riding lessons, he has to listen, process, and follow the directions...He does it!  Can you imagine going through life without the basic skills of listening?  Not being able to understand directions or instructions is huge.  This program at HHH is helping him to learn skills...I know it is helping him.  I see it more at home every day.  I really am very thankful for all the people involved in this group."  Josiah's Mom.

I Saw A Child...

I saw a child who couldn't walk,
sit on a horse, laugh and talk.
Then ride it through a field of daisies
and yet he could not walk unaided.

I saw a child, no legs below,
sit on a horse, and make it go
through woods of green
and places he had never been
to sit and stare,
except from a chair.

I saw a child who could only crawl
mount a horse and sit up tall
Put it through degrees of paces
and laugh at the wonder in our faces

I saw a child born into strife,
Take up and hold the reins of life
and that same child was heard to say,
Thank God for showing me the way.
